Meet Keren Elijah,

JOY ENTHUSIAST, PASSIONATE  MENTOR, AND COACH,  FOR NEWCOMERS TO CANADA AND BUSINESS STRATEGIST

I’ve spent years, honing my skills and cultivating a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in Canada as an immigrant and business owner. My mission is to change the narrative that you have to suffer for a few years as an immigrant before you get your “breakthrough”

This is the story from the beginning…

I arrived in Canada with ambitious dreams, aiming to graduate with Honours from business school and become an employer immediately after. However, life had different intentions for me.

As I navigated through my academic journey in Canada, I encountered challenges and obstacles that I never could have anticipated. Despite my initial aspirations of graduating with Honours and immediately becoming an employer, of labour I realized that success is not always a linear path. I learned the valuable lesson that setbacks and detours are often opportunities in disguise.

My journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, faith, and the support of a strong community.

Challenges arose in Nigeria as the Naira rapidly depreciated, and political turmoil, among other factors, made it tough for my parents to support me as before. Therefore, I had to explore innovative ways to generate income while upholding my status as an international student in Canada.

Though not easy, my determination to achieve results and succeed inspired me to push beyond my comfort zone and discover the resources available to me as an immigrant in Canada. Through my inquisitiveness, I secured bursaries, grants, and my first paying job. My journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, faith, and the support of a strong community.

I highly value collaboration, innovation, and the significance of highlighting diverse voices. In my content, I aim to share my experiences, insights, and lessons with authenticity and vulnerability. My objective is to inspire individuals encountering similar challenges in settling in Canada and starting a business, assuring them that their voices matter and they are not alone. Through storytelling, I aim t to bring people together, cultivate empathy and spark meaningful discussions that lead to positive changes.

Together, let us embrace the beauty of our diversity, celebrate our shared humanity, and work towards a future where all voices are heard, valued, and uplifted in the tapestry of life.

But I’m not about…

Small thinking and believing in the narrative that it is impossible to break the cycle of living paycheck-to-paycheck or that you have to struggle at a minimum-wage job before achieving a significant breakthrough. You can build generational wealth with the transferable skills you already have!

the timeline

A look through memory lane to show you how I have spent years honing my skills and cultivating a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in Canada as an immigrant & Business owner.

2014

Left everything and everyone I knew in Nigeria to pursue a degree in Entrepreneurship and Small business at the Asper School of Business in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.

2016

Started my first business to be able to supplement living expenses due to financial challenges and the restriction on international students working 20-hours a week

2018

Started actively getting involved in the Manitoba business community and understanding how the ecosystem works

2019

In 2018 I made the hard discussion to change my university to finish sooner and start my Permanent residency process. In 2019 I finally graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

2020

When the pandemic hit, I had to find a way to earn money that allowed me to work from any location worldwide. This led me to establish my online consultancy, stepping into unfamiliar territory.

2021

I started helping female creators leverage the power of tech to build online businesses that open doors to profitability and freedom. This venture provided me with opportunities to sit at tables and discover resources that I previously had no idea entrepreneurs had access to in Canada.

2023

Left the workforce because I saw a need that I wanted to solve.  Now, I am serving as a relatable, accessible and approachable entry point into the world of newcomer settlement and business development in Canada.
